A forum and journal run by students
The Berkeley Polity is a student-run, peer-edited forum and journal dedicated to political thought, from the history of ideas to contemporary normative debates.
Every piece we publish is read, discussed, and edited by fellow students. We believe that serious political writing improves through careful conversation, and that undergraduates and graduate students have ideas worth publishing.
How we publish
The Forum is our open, rolling venue for essays, responses, and commentary. Submissions are welcome at any time throughout the year.
The Journal is our annual issue of longer, peer-edited scholarship. We accept journal submissions once a year, in March. More details will follow.
Independence
The Berkeley Polity is entirely student-run. It is not affiliated with, sponsored by, or endorsed by the University of California, Berkeley.
